Like the Kindergarten age? The Camel class needs 2 volunteers to teach these bright kids at 10:25 AM service. 

We have one who is an assistant – just need one who prefers to lead the class.

Parent & Child Dedication Services

A child is a precious gift from God.  

 Each spring and fall we offer parents the opportunity to dedicate their children to the Lord, in any of our services, at this special Parent & Child Dedication Service. 

The dedication is from the parent and congregation to the Lord. 

Registration is required!

The information and photo should be transmitted to the Preschool Ministry offices no later than Sunday Sept 2, 2012 by 9 PM. Please include a photo of your child(ren) – Registration is NOT confirmed until the photo is received, and we will not be able to accept any photos after Sept 2.  

Make sure your child’s name and date of birth is referenced in the transmitted photo. 

A formal photo is not necessary. 

We encourage you to submit this photo via e-mail to wee@willowbrook.org - again, no later than Sunday Sept 2, 2012 by 9 PM.

We look forward to sharing this special time with you and your families.

Pancakes With Pops!

Preschoolers and Kindergarteners 

and their "Pops" (fathers, gradfathers, uncles, etc) 

are invited to join us for breakfast! 
$5.00 per family.

Serving line will be open from 8:00am - 9:00am. 

Fun activities include story hour, fun music, 

and food will be great pancakes, sausage, 

bacon, milk, coffee, juice.

A Book Review and A Giveaway!

Tracie Collier here! Let's talk about a book, then let's talk about a giveaway! Sound good? I thought so.

Those who know me well know that I am a certifiable book-a-holic...certifiable, I tell you!  So, I was thrilled when Bethany House Publishing (a division of Baker Publishing) gave me the opportunity to receive a free copy of one of their books in exchange for my review of it.  Delightful!

The first book I have had the pleasure to review is Unstuck by Arnie Cole and Michael Ross. 

Here's the what's what...

If you are feeling “stuck” in your walk with Christ, as if you are going through the motions and not growing spiritually at all, this is the book for you! 

The authors ask the question, “Does your relationship with God seem broken?”  Ever been there?  I have. Unstuck outlines real steps to change, real steps to spiritual growth, with each step drawing you further and further into God’s Word…where the answers have been all along!  The authors use research conducted (over 70,000 surveys) to pinpoint where Christians are in their walks and why some people feel “stuck.” They delve into how Christians spend their time...how often they practice the "spiritual disciplines" and how that relates to their "I'm stuck" feeling.

What I appreciate most about Unstuck is that each chapter, each nugget of advice, points you back to Scripture.  The God of the Bible is the same God that wants to have a real, thriving relationship with you!  That’s amazing!  The Bible isn’t just a book; it’s the living, breathing Word of God…a life-changer!

The authors also introduce their website, www.gotandem.com.  Through this website, you can sign up for emails, text messages and phone calls which deliver relevant content to you intended to help you focus throughout the day on your relationship with God.  I tried all of their outreach options and liked the text messaging the most.  You can try them all, then modify your selections to what suits you best.

Homemade Pudding Pops!

It's HOT outside! Cool down with some 

homemade Chocolate Pudding Pops!

Instructions

1. With a wire whisk, blend together 1 package of instant chocolate pudding, 2 cups milk, 1/2 cup cream, and 1/2 cup sugar.
   
2. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds. Or, pour it into small plastic cups, cover each with aluminum foil, and insert a craft stick through the foil.
   
3. 
   Freeze and eat.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

I know my willingness to serve pleases God and allows Him to love others through me.

Tell us about yourself.

My wife, Toni, and I have five children: Jordan (24), Sierra (22), Tyler (22), Tyler (in Heaven!) and Cara (19).  We are blessed with five grandchildren.  I am a Research Data Analyst at Dynetics.  My hobbies include playing golf and studying Scripture.  I cheer for the University of Georgia! GO DAWGS!!! UGA!

Serving others and teaching kids God's Word.

I've been married to my husband, Thomas, for 10 years.  We have two girls, Ava and Ella, and I look forward to seeing if God will add to our family.  We homeschool and enjoy spending time outdoors enjoying God's creation.

Have a favorite Scripture verse?

I love so many verses, but Romans 8:38 - 39 is probably my favorite right now.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Bob volunteers in the Frog room (4 year olds) every other week along with his sweet wife, Denise!

How long have you been serving in the Preschool Ministries of Willowbrook?

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

I love the interaction with our 4 year old Frogs!  When we pray, discuss our Bible story or just talk about what is going on in their life, it is a real joy and the rewards are many.  It makes my day to be with them.  I am thankful for what they give to me.

Tell us about yourself.

I grew up in northeast Ohio and have lived in Alabama since 1996.  I am a "Roll Tide" fan!  My wife, Denise, led me to Willowbrook and she is amazing.  I love her with all of my heart!  I have two Grandchildren, Mason and Molly Kate, and one on the way.

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
